Top: Scarpa’s work emphasizes the sculptural lines of the entire structure. Below: Sand Studios’ renovation of their own building exposed the concrete shell and original flooring, then contrasted the original materials with smooth expanses of glass, a sculpted white ceiling, custom-made doors, a few well-chosen industrial artifacts, and a very simple but beautifully translucent window shading.
